Welcome to Abingdon House School

Abingdon House School is a co-educational independent day school for children and young people aged 5 to 19 years old.

We support students with specific learning difficulties such as dyslexia, dyspraxia and ADD/ADHD, as well as autistic spectrum condition, social communication difficulties and other associated needs.

Our teaching environment is based on understanding a child’s individual needs, nurturing their academic and social development and caring for their wellbeing. We understand the importance of discipline and boundaries and pupils thrive in our calm, friendly, ‘can-do’ atmosphere. As they achieve in both academic and creative areas, belief in their own abilities grows and fuels further success.

The length of time spent at Abingdon House is unique to the individual but a sense of enjoyment, belonging and success is experienced by everyone.

The school currently has two campuses;

- The Prep School at 24 Elvaston Place, South Kensington, and

- The Senior School at Broadley Terrace, Marylebone.

I hope you will soon visit us to see what makes us so special.

Abingdon House School, Purley

Abingdon House School, Purley is a co-educational independent day school welcoming pupils aged 7-19 years old (initially accepting pupils aged 10-14 years in its first year of opening).

We support students with specific learning difficulties such as dyslexia, dyspraxia and ADD/ADHD, as well as autistic spectrum condition, social communication difficulties and other associated needs.

We are hugely ambitious with regards to our students' potential and what they can achieve; we are looking to change the perception of what neurodiverse young people are capable of.

Our experienced and passionate staff work towards removing our students’ barriers to learning and are given the unique opportunities they need in order to develop and progress both academically and personally.

Our curriculum offer is inspiring, broad and balanced. In addition to the subjects taught typically in schools, our students have weekly timetabled lessons in Life Skills, Social Skills and British Sign Language. Students work towards GCSE and equivalent qualifications which reflect their underlying cognitive ability.

We recognise that many of the students coming to us will have had negative school experiences prior to joining us. Our students deserve to enjoy learning in a school that equips them with the skills and tools they will need to succeed and have a fulfilling life.

We warmly welcome you to come and visit us.
