Educational Outcomes and Wellbeing:

Our schools and colleges offer pupils access to a wide-range of subject choices and qualification levels, all carefully chosen to work to their strengths. Regardless of a pupil’s starting point when they join us, they will make progress and they will achieve. We enable this transformation to take place by showing understanding, offering support, restoring self confidence and by celebrating achievements, big and small.

Our focus is not on academic results alone, we understand that our pupils need to feel prepared for life beyond our doors and so we also offer input around fitness, health, nutrition, resilience and mental wellness.

Therapeutic and specialist support:

Alongside the academic, co-curricular and pastoral provision sits a fully integrated therapeutic and specialist support model which includes access to subject specialists, therapists, counsellors and support workers.

Our small classes guarantee high levels of personal attention from specially trained and empathetic teaching and support staff. We focus on a pupil’s areas of strength and interest, and tailor their learning accordingly. Sophisticated assistive technologies are available to help them achieve their best work.

Preparation for life:

We work closely with our pupils to help them understand more about their unique learning profile and to help them embrace, celebrate and value the attributes that make them unique. Through our carefully crafted PSHE programmes we bring important topics to life and call upon the services of expert speakers to share their insight.

We focus on achieving independence as adults and offer pupils access to varied and bespoke life skills training which might include travelling safely, handling money, cooking, personal care or social skills. We also offer our pupils the opportunity to undertake work experience which is meaningful, relevant and sustained.

Learning outside of the classroom

Pupils who may have struggled in a traditional classroom setting often thrive in an outdoor environment; when they experience success here, it helps them to realise what they can achieve when they challenge themselves.

Learning outside the classroom takes many forms, from academic subjects being studied on the farm or at forest school, to adventure and residential trips designed to build confidence away from home and encourage team work, resilience and problem solving. Playing sports and being physically fit and active sit alongside the mental health and wellbeing aspects of spending time in the great outdoors.
