Rachel is the People Director of Cavendish Education.

Rachel Slevin is People Director at Cavendish Education, where she leads the organisation’s people strategy, supporting its schools and central services in all aspects of staff welfare, recruitment, workforce development, and organisational culture.

With a career spanning multiple sectors, including financial services, property, technology, manufacturing, engineering, and policing, Rachel brings a wealth of HR leadership experience and a deep understanding of how to align People practices with organisational goals. She has held senior HR positions in both the private and public sectors, helping businesses and institutions navigate complex challenges, manage transformation, and embed positive cultural change.

Notably, Rachel led the HR Services division of a business consulting firm, where she advised a diverse range of clients on talent strategy, employee relations, and organisational development. She also served as part of the senior management team at Gloucestershire Constabulary, where she introduced a commercial lens to policing’s people strategy – driving staff engagement in a highly structured public service environment.

Experienced managing organisational change, Rachel is passionate about creating inclusive, values-led working environments where people can thrive. At Cavendish Education, she plays a pivotal role in fostering a professional culture across the Group’s schools that prioritises continuous learning, and a commitment to excellence in education.

Rachel holds a degree in Psychology, a Postgraduate Diploma in Human Resource Management, and is a Chartered Member of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD).
