Heathermount School in Ascot, Berkshire, is a co-educational independent specialist school for autistic pupils aged 5 to 18 years old.
Our school provides an education which is tailored to meet the needs of individual student’s social, sensory and communication needs, as well as providing support to enable them to manage their levels of anxiety and access the National Curriculum.
I have the privilege of working with some amazing and very talented staff who are focused on meeting the needs of our students first and foremost. If we get this right, the learning will follow. Sometimes, this can take time, but we work very closely with the children and families, using our unique setting and the expertise of our therapists to unlock the potential of all our students.
“I have nothing but wonderful things to say about Heathermount School. My son is so happy and so much less stressed than he was prior to starting.” Parent
We work as a team, celebrate success, have high expectations, challenge ourselves and constantly learn from our students, parents and each other. We never stop learning and always look to improve.
“High aspirations and ambition permeate every aspect of this school. Pupils achieve well academically. They benefit equally from the school’s commitment to their personal development. They thrive and grow to become young people who contribute to society.” Ofsted, 2024
“Pupils’ behaviour is exemplary. They are incredibly well supported to recognise and manage their emotions and show empathy to others. Pupils have an understanding about their autism and their own individuality.” Ofsted, 2024
