Life Skills Enterprise welcomes students with an Education, Health and Care Plan and primary diagnosis of Autism. We provide a full time education for children and young people aged 10-18 years old.
Our vision is to deliver a double-stranded curriculum at Key Stage 3 that is principally skills-based (food preparation, DIY lessons), with the inclusion of core academic subjects such as Maths, English and Science.
“The school recognises that pupils who will attend the setting may have experienced prolonged disruption to their education. It places building trusting relationships and providing pupils with a nurturing environment at the heart of its work.” Ofsted, pre-registration Inspection
Our curriculum is successfully adapted, designed and developed for pupils with a primary diagnosis of Autism and aims to ensure that every pupil leaves us with employer-recognised accreditations and certifications, along with the qualifications and social skills to provide a solid platform for progressing to further education or employment.
Life Skills lessons are taught daily to foster independent living, employability, healthy living, and participation in society.
In addition to a bespoke whole-school Literacy programme, we also offer personalised intervention programmes to target pupils’ additional needs. Sensory integration therapy is provided by a school employed therapist.
