The White House school is a mixed, specialist SEND educational setting delivering an innovative and mindful curriculum for pupils from 6 to 14 years of age.
Our independent special school is situated within the BCP Local Authority in Dorset, where we value each pupil as a unique individual. Our focus is on wellbeing, personal development and academic achievement, and we offer a specialist curriculum that balances core learning, creativity, outdoor and community experiences and life skills.
Pupils are encouraged to develop personal mindfulness practices, prioritising mental health alongside classroom learning. The curriculum and activities are designed around the needs of children with mild, moderate and complex Special Educational Needs, empowering our pupils to recognise and develop their strengths, in order to learn and thrive.
“Parents and carers are effusive about the transformative role of the school in their children’s lives. They are very positive about the ways in which the school works closely with families in supporting pupils’ academic and social and emotional development. One parent said, ‘The school is like a light at the end of a tunnel’.” Ofsted
