His career in education covers the full gamut of school categories: selective and non-selective, co-ed and single sex, boarding and day, senior, junior and even nursery level.  In the classroom, he was primarily an English teacher, but has additionally taught Latin, Theatre Studies and Film Studies, and was a producer of school plays.

He enjoyed fifteen years as the Head of a boarding and day school in Berkshire. He was on the Main Committee and Professional Development Committee of the Society of Heads, training new Heads on behalf of the Society, and he has trained senior European teachers under the EU's Erasmus+ programme.

 

Over time, he has supported the work of Cavendish Education in a number of areas including coronavirus management, operations management, health and safety, INSET and planning.He is an Associate of HorseHeard (who deliver Equine Facilitated Learning), is a Trustee of a local heritage charity and is the Secretary of the Gloucestershire Cambridge Society. He is a Trooper in the Honourable Artillery Company Light Cavalry.
