Welcome

The Holmewood School in Finchley, North London, is a specialist school for boys and girls with high-functioning autism, Asperger’s Syndrome and other language and communication needs.

The school provides places for students aged 7 to 19 years old. Its philosophy is founded on a desire to make a difference and to challenge the way all members of the community think about autism.

The Holmewood School

"Staff share leaders’ vision to ‘think differently’ about pupils on the autistic spectrum. They are very committed to pupils’ welfare, well-being and progress." Ofsted, 2018

The Holmewood School is a warm and friendly school. We ensure our young people get every opportunity to achieve their full potential in life and this commitment is an intrinsic part of our philosophy and at the heart of everything we do.

We recognise that every child is different and, in addition to academic achievement, our focus is firmly on social, emotional and personal development. This is supported by strengthening
independence and life skills, which are key to building confidence and self-esteem.

"The curriculum is creative, engaging and tailored to pupils’ individual needs. It focuses heavily on raising pupils’ self-esteem and preparing them for life and the world of work after school." Ofsted, 2018

We are immensely proud of our school and we are excited and committed to its continuing success.
